4 Team Members Promoted to Partner; COO appointed
January 16, 2014 – TJS Deemer Dana, Georgia’s premiere full-service certified public accounting firm, is thrilled to announce the promotion of 5 team members. In the Firm’s Tax Department, Becky Hines, CPA, CFE; Cristi Jones, CPA, CVA and Daniel Rowe, CPA have been promoted to Partner. Matt Jones, CPA, CISA, OSCP has been promoted to Partner of the Firm’s Audit group and Rhonda Williams has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer of the Firm.
Becky Hines, CPA, CFE: Becky is a graduate of Georgia College & State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. She joined Thigpen, Jones, Seaton & Co., PC in 1994 and currently serves as the Tax Department Chairperson. Becky is responsible for providing a wide range of tax services to corporate and individual clients of the firm as well as performing audits and reviews of small businesses and employee benefit plans. Having experience with a wide variety of clients, her expertise is in providing controllership and consulting services for construction and manufacturing clients.
As a CPA licensed in the State of Georgia, Becky is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a Certified Fraud Examiner. She formerly served on the Board of Directors for Area Residence for Kids (ARK).
Cristi Jones, CPA, CVA: Cristi is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a BBA in Accounting and a Masters of Accountancy with a specialization in taxation. She joined the firm in 2003, after working as a tax associate in both a local Georgia CPA firm and a Big 4 international accounting firm. Cristi serves in the tax and consulting division of the firm and provides tax consulting and compliance services to financial institutions, as well as clients in a variety of other industries. She also performs non-profit organization audits, business valuations, and serves as a financial consultant to many of the firm’s small business clients.
Cristi is both a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Valuation Analyst. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA), and the GSCPA Tax Section. She is affiliated with numerous community organizations including the Magnolia Midlands Chapter of the Red Cross, Area Residence for Kids, and the Dublin Girls’ Cotillion Club.
Matt Jones, CPA, CISA, OSCP: Matt graduated from the University of Georgia with a BBA in Accounting and a Masters of Accountancy with a focus in auditing. Prior to joining the firm in 2003, he worked as a tax associate in a local Athens, Georgia CPA firm as well as an audit associate with a Big-4 international accounting firm. Matt serves in the financial institutions practice of the firm, specializing in information systems audits and penetration testing, financial statement audits, and SOX 404 consulting work for community banks. He is the network administrator for the firm, and also develops software solutions for internal use as well as custom solutions for clients.
Matt is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Georgia and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. He holds the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) designation for penetration testing. He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
Daniel Rowe, CPA: Daniel is a CPA specializing in partnership and S-Corporation taxation and real estate development and investment. Prior to joining Deemer Dana & Froehle, Daniel served as tax manager at JH Cohn, LLP in New York, where he provided year-round tax planning and guidance for high net worth individuals, advised on trust and estate matters, and represented clients in federal, state and local audits. He began his career with Deloitte & Touche, LLP as an assurance & advisory services senior in Baltimore.
Daniel has been published in various tax and real estate journals such as The Tax Adviser, The Journal of Property Management, and Commercial Investment Real Estate. He has also testified as an expert witness on estate tax matters and has developed and presented a Continuing Legal Education course on the tax aspects of litigation. In March 2012 he was named one of Savannah’s GenerationNEXT recipients in Savannah Magazine and Business in Savannah. GenerationNEXT highlights Savannah’s under-40 rising stars of business.
Rhonda Williams: As Chief Operating Officer, Rhonda will oversee the Firm’s operational budget and structure. Working out of all three offices, Ms. Williams will provide day-to-day leadership and support of all Partners and Managers, as well as the Administrative staff.
